Digital photographic montage on Canson Rag
Galleries Reframed examines the tension between art and the spaces that display it. Using photographs of gallery interiors, architectural details and silhouettes, my body of work investigates how structure directs our gaze, movement, and engagement with the works themselves and their surrounding environments. My work represents an architectural form, a meta-gallery where the exhibition space itself becomes an integral part of the artwork. My intention is for the absence of colour to draw attention to geometry, shadow and light, inviting the audience to consider what is seen (and what is overlooked) within environments carefully designed for observation, contemplation and reflection.
My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Serge Najjar, Ray Metzker.
