My body of work expresses the relationship between the two sides of the brain. It explores the brain’s inner workings – the untamed creativity of the right and the influence of order and logic from the left – by looking at the balance between them and the need for both. Using digital drawings in stop-motion animation, I use animation’s imperfections and simplicity to represent the creative (red) and ordered (blue) sides of the brain. I intend to describe the human psyche and the importance of unity within the mind, resolving the difference in nature between the right and left brain.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the artist Leo Matsuda (dir), Inner workings.
