Into The Valley

Drawing, graphite on paper

Into the Valley explores the evolution of mankind's relationship with technology, progressively becoming more humanoid as technology advances. The title keys into my inspiration, influenced by the uncanny valley and the rate that technology is turning that theory into reality. Using paper and graphite as a medium, I create a life-like quality that shows the daunting reality of my work. The scenes follow the story of humanity, chronologically documenting recent history and the near future, sparking the question of where humanity is going and what will it become.

An artistic orange brushstroke design forms abstract shapes on a white background. Overlaid on the design is the word "artexpress" in a sleek, modern black font. The orange brush strokes appear dynamic and free-flowing, with splatters and tapered ends.Simplified waratah flower in deep red colour with the words NSW Government in dark blue stacked underneath.
