Three paintings of water moving across and around a human form.

Oil on canvas

My oil paintings represent water as a complex, moving natural element that works in harmony with the human figure. I employed the smooth, luminescent quality of the oil paint to create deep chiaroscuro and explore the movement of water. I used this sense of movement and its complex reflective quality to mirror water’s natural ebb and flow. The relationship between air and water is powerful and transcendent as they fight against each other, replicating the difficulty of finding an identity.

An artistic orange brushstroke design forms abstract shapes on a white background. Overlaid on the design is the word "artexpress" in a sleek, modern black font. The orange brush strokes appear dynamic and free-flowing, with splatters and tapered ends.Simplified waratah flower in deep red colour with the words NSW Government in dark blue stacked underneath.
