Coloured pencil and ink on paper

I have always been interested in the concept of alien life and have asked myself many questions. What would it look like? How similar would it be to life on earth? In my body of work, each panel represents an imagined species of flora and/or fauna, demonstrating how each one lives, moves and eats. I have included decorative borders inscribed with a fictional alien language to add to the impression that the work has been taken from an alien bestiary and ground it within my imagined universe.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Luigi Serafini, Codex Seraphinianus; Hieronymus Bosch, The Garden of Earthly Delights; Ernst Haeckel, Actiniae.
