Posthuman Transgenesis represents a dark, dystopian future where human beings have either evolved in adapting to a different world environment or have been changed through intentional genetic modification. It refers to elements of design in sci-fi movies as well as pondering the morality of this imagined future – one which has ignored ethical concerns and pushed the human body to be altered in strange and unnatural ways.
Each of the figures is akin to a failed experiment, presenting an eerie contrast between its animal-like and human qualities. An unsettling tone is further reinforced through intense dynamic lighting and eerily desaturated colours.
