Hearing my parents talk about how technology used to be uncommon, a luxury, inspired my body of work to examine concepts of time and nostalgia. The motif of handmade paper stars represents how my parents’ paths connected. Each parent is represented by three objects from the 1980s and ‘90s – one most memorable and two most used. My intention is for older audiences to remember their forgotten past and be prompted to ask, 'Remember that time?'. For younger audiences, my intention is that they can learn about the past they'll never experience and see how the world has changed over time.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Jessica Brilli, Sandra Kuck.
