The Journey represents a timeline, expressing my gratitude for the sacrifices my grandparents made and the obstacles faced by immigrants. My grandparents met before the war in Macedonia. ‘It was love at first sight.’ In 1970 my grandfather joined the army and then moved to Australia, but they continued to write. Three years after the proposal gift of a necklace, my grandmother joined him, leaving her family. They were married in their first home’s garage and began their happy life of taking care of each other. These events are the foundation of who I am and will be.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Christian Boltanski and Pablo Picasso.
