The number of unfilled teaching positions has doubled since 2012.My body of work goes beyond traditional artmaking practices and examines the experiences of teachers. How they are grappling with an increasingly unmanageable workload and a system that has continuously failed to listen to workers’ demands, while continuing to support students to the best of their abilities. As of 9 September 2023, the NSW Government has secured a historic pay rise of up to 12%, making NSW public school teachers the highest paid in the nation.
My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of Camila Salinas, Is it over yet?
