The Liminal Zone

Painting

Acrylic on canvas, oil on canvas

My body of work is intended to spark introspection about the journeys encountered in our lives. In a world so focused on the destination, my work’s ambiguous liminal landscapes represent both human comfort and unease about the unknown. I use movement to suggest ominous journeys, as my work examines the relationship we have with place and how we make sense of the world around us. The enigmatic, hazy shapes invite the audience to fill in their own narrative about this journey, acknowledging that travel and transition from one place to another are shared parts of the uncertainty of human experience.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Clarice Beckett, Philip Wolfhagen.
