Me, Myself and Technology

Collection of Works

Found objects, cardboard, paper

My body of work examining society’s increasing reliance on technology and represents a warning for future dependency upon it. The simplicity of my work is inspired by the perfection of technology in its circuits, manufacturing and design. I made the composition deep and empty to encourage audiences to peer in and wholly focus on the device and definition, with the intent of motivating them to re-evaluate their own lives and connection to technology. I included a soundscape to extend the examination of the relationship between people and technology, incorporating the machine noises and human noises made during the work’s creation.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Joseph Kosuth, Connor Gottfried, Todd McLellan.
