Natural selection is the process by which organisms adapt to their environment in order to survive and reproduce. My body of work includes extinct, endangered and adaptable birds that have either died or thrived because of their environments. My work explores everyday actions of familiar birds that are commonly disregarded or unseen by humans. My aim is to encourage audiences to consider the environmental effects of actions such as deforestation on native Australian birds. I have re-purposed old cardboard and given it new life, just as the animals in my artwork reinvigorate what was once thrown away.

An artistic orange brushstroke design forms abstract shapes on a white background. Overlaid on the design is the word "artexpress" in a sleek, modern black font. The orange brush strokes appear dynamic and free-flowing, with splatters and tapered ends.Simplified waratah flower in deep red colour with the words NSW Government in dark blue stacked underneath.
