Water-mixable oil paint on wooden board

My body of work is a tribute to the life of my grandfather, Sam Klinger, a Holocaust survivor who found refuge in Sydney after escaping World War 2. The series of oil paintings is accompanied by audio taken from my grandfather's testimony of his own experiences, one of the USC Shoah Foundation’s 55 000-plus video testimonies documenting survivors' experiences. My intention with this work was to celebrate his life and transform it into something beautiful, so that both the hardships and victories he experienced can be represented in a tangible way that can be remembered and will endure for generations.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Gerhard Richter, Michael Zavros.
