Oil on board

My body of work expresses my personal connection to the natural beauty of the Southern Highlands region of NSW. My intent was to represent a semi-romantic response to landscape while refining my oil painting skills in the illusion of reality that is art.

My interest in landscape painting grew over time through my visits to art galleries and venues around the Southern Highlands. I pay homage to the use of light by the great Australian landscape painters, with open composition aspects from the Impressionists and the delicate application of multiple oil paint glazes for a ‘romanticised’ form, depth and realism.
