Dissimulated is a body of work that represents hidden emotions in a physical form. Each bust expresses an emotion and the concealed horrors an individual may face at a certain time. The concept behind my work was heavily influenced by personal experience. At times I have felt like I was bound by conditions, while at other times, I felt like the inner me wanted to break free from the constraints that society places on us. My work intends to raise awareness of the reality of the pain of hidden emotions that are often ignored.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the artist Johnson Tsang Lucid Dream II series: Under the Skin, Work in Progress.
