LAST LIGHT, FIRST LOVE

Photomedia

Ink, Yupo paper, bamboo baren

Last Light, First Love is a body of work that examines the sublime beauty of nature and the emotional resonance of time. Each piece represents sunset at a bay that has personal significance, conveying nostalgia and emotional connection to place. I inkprinted my photographs, hand-transferred them onto Yupo paper and brushed them with the intention of allowing colours to blend fluidly into a romantic finish that blurs photography and painting. Through manipulation of ink and form, my work communicates mood and memory, inviting audiences to pause and feel the quiet transience of light and time.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Claude Monet, JMW Turner, Thomas Moran.
