Acrylic on canvas, ink on paper
My body of work investigates the transformative role of light in nature, inspired by my immersive experience of camping and the transient environment of a tent. Influenced by John Wolseley’s sensitivity to landscape and process, I used acrylic and ink to convey how dawn and dusk shape perception and mood. The tent represents a threshold between self and environment, communicating fragility and reflection. Through trial and error with thin tent materials, acrylic layering and ink, my intention was to examine personal experience while inviting the audience to consider their own connection to natural rhythms.
My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: John Wolseley, Nickolay Petrovich Bogdanov-Belksy, Vincent van Gogh.
