The average person spends approximately 26 years of their life sleeping. Waking and sleeping are commonly viewed as two separate states, but my body of work represents them as being inherently interconnected; time passes just as slowly when we are asleep, the earth continues to spin and our heart is constantly beating. To examine this concept I conducted research into vibrational frequency waves and added them to the work. My conclusions about the intricacies of the human mind were also supported with investigations into Freud's sleep theory, that shows how the connections between sleep and waking influence our wellbeing.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Brett Stanley, Penny Wheatley, Mary Cassatt, Svetlana Tiourina, Salvador Dali, André Breton, Sigmund Freud.
