Typically, we envision the future as a 'cyberpunk', crime-infested society but I believe we have become too invested in this notion. My intention in my body of work was to communicate a positive future where technology and nature coexist harmoniously. We should be excited and optimistic about the future. Influenced by the Solarpunk movement, brutalism and modernism in architecture, each element of my work represents a snapshot of everyday aspects of this sustainable future. As if a photographer had been recording their world, each ‘photo’ invites the audience to examine how nature and technology can flourish together.
My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Philipsue (Philip Sue), LotusBubble (Lydia Elaine), Kamulch, Jocelin (Jocelin Kan Meredith), Pr fineart, Kalle Hellzen, Guweiz, Ross Tran.
