Domestic Bliss: Delicate Defiance
Printmaking
Ink on paper, thread, plastic objects
My body of work is a series of prints that examines the spider as an emblem of feminine artistry. The spiders in my work weave webs that represent both the constraints of patriarchy and the resilience and creativity of women. By blending delicate materials like lace with the stark imagery of spiders, I investigate the interplay between entrapment and empowerment, and celebrate how women have reclaimed so many mediums.
My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Louise Bourgeois, Tomás Saraceno, Odilon Redon.
