Watercolour/gouache on watercolour paper

The title of my body of work references our national anthem, conveying how diversity defines our nation and inviting audiences to celebrate the essence of Australia’s multiculturalism. My work investigates the intricate beauty and unique character of each land represented, encouraging the audience to appreciate the diversity of nature as an integral part of the Australian identity. I pay homage to traditional Western landscape painting style, honouring the journeys of Australia’s migrant communities from their homelands. My work also acknowledges the movement of Europeans from the coast into inland regions, illustrating the unifying effect of individuals of all ethnicities.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the following artists: Hayao Miyazaki, Claude Monet, Zhang Daqian, JMW Turner, Anastasia Trusova.
