Female surfers, just like my friends, led a global movement for the equality and recognition of female athletes. My body of work is a celebration of the rise in female surf culture. This generation of young women is breaking barriers in capability, setting new limits for what’s possible. My large-scale charcoal drawings represent the emotions and connection experienced between these local female surfers.

My artmaking practice has been influenced by the study and interpretation of the artist Dylan Eakin.
