Peter Sharp works across drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. As an artist, he is interested in the order of the natural world, thinking about and exploring nature and its systems to generate unexpected outcomes.

An enclosed area in the Hazelhurst Gardens was Sharp's outdoor studio from 22 October 2022 to 19 May 2023 where visitors had the opportunity to see him working with chainsaws and other tools to carve and construct large freestanding sculptures. This project enabled Sharp to push the boundaries of his practice, directly engage with visitors while making the work and respond to the site.

A selection of Sharp's large freestanding sculptures are on display in the eastern courtyard of Hazelhurst's main building, near the entrance on Talara Road.
