A famous American soprano becomes trapped in a hostage situation when she's invited to perform for a wealthy industrialist in South America.
Based on a true story and a book by Anne Patchett, somewhere in South America, at the home of the a senior diplomat, a lavish party is being held in honour of a powerful businessman. Roxanne Coss, an acclaimed soprano, has mesmerised the guests with her singing. It is a perfect evening - until a band of gun-wielding terrorists takes the party hostage.
What begins as a panicked, life-threatening scenario slowly evolves into something quite different, a moment of great beauty, as terrorists and hostages forge unexpected bonds and people from different continents become compatriots, intimate friends, and lovers.
