Welcome to Babel follows Chinese-Australian Artist Jiawei Shen as he embarks on the ambitious project of creating a 130 square meter painting, "Tower of Babel". The painting serves as a parable of communism, featuring numerous historical figures and iconic artworks. The film interweaves Jiawei's artistic process with his personal narrative and experience and that of his wife Lan Wang during the Chinese Cultural Revolution.
