Event details
The true story of photographer Lee Miller, an ex-model who became an acclaimed war photographer for her work as a correspondent for Vogue during World War II.
Oscar winner Kate Winslet stars in a biopic of American war photographer Lee Miller, who gave us some of the 20th century’s most memorable WWII images. An ex-model who, tired of being viewed through a lens and by men, focused on working as a photographer.
As the war threatens, frustrated by restrictions placed on female photographers at the time, limited to working on the home front, she requests permission from her boss at Vogue to go to the front line. With her empathy for women and the voiceless, the resilience of the human spirit shines through in her work.
Directed by award winning cinematographer Ellen Kuras, the film is a tribute to the bold women who fought to work in male-dominated roles.
