Anney Bounpraseuth is an Australian-born artist of Laotian heritage. Her practice is concerned with the representation of post-traumatic growth from religious trauma in contemporary art.

She upcycles Edenic symbolism into mixed-media textile-based present paradises that symbolise freedom, personal sanctuary, and creating a life of one’s own.

Anney has been developing and delivering recreational art programs since 2004, and teaches drawing and painting classes for all ages at Hazelhurst Arts Centre.
