Event details
A poignant film that follows a donkey, introduced to us while performing in a Polish circus, as it traverses through various owners, reflecting the trials and tribulations of humanity with profound simplicity and depth.
Inspired by Robert Bresson's 1966 film Au Hasard Balthazar, EO follows the life of a donkey as it transitions between owners, beginning with its introduction in a Polish circus. Through the donkey's perspective, the film explores the complexities of human nature, societal injustices, and the pursuit of meaning in a world filled with both beauty and cruelty. As it journeys through different stages of life, encountering various characters and situations, EO offers a poignant reflection on the human condition and the interconnectedness of all living beings. Through its contemplative storytelling and evocative imagery, the film invites viewers to contemplate the profound impact of empathy, compassion, and resilience in the face of adversity.
