Call out for artists: Hazelhurst Mural

Hazelhurst Arts Centre is pleased to announce an opportunity for artists to submit an expression of interest for the creation of a mural in the Hazelhurst Gardens.

To submit your expression of interest, please email the following to hazelhurst@ssc.nsw.gov.au:

• 3 to 6 images of recent works demonstrating your experience and style of work
• A copy of your CV outlining your experience
• An artist statement about your practice

Submissions close midnight, Monday 3 March 2025.

Finalists will be invited to create a concept for the mural based on the following brief.

"This year marks the 25th anniversary of Hazelhurst Arts Centre. Finalists are encouraged to think about time in an expanded sense. The ways in which layers of histories make their marks on the land. Flora, fauna, peoples and built environments as they appear and disappear and the traces they might leave behind. Deep time and time in the more-than human sense. Past-present-futures, continuity, felt-time. That which has happened and that which is yet to come…"

The selected artist will receive an artist and materials fee of $3,500.
