In Paper Matters, student artists forge individual artworks from ubiquitous paper materials using classical and experimental processes and techniques.

The student artists from Hazelhurst's Works on Paper, Mixed Media and Fine Art Collage classes form an active and supportive community, connecting and sharing their skills and archives with each other. Artworks made in the three weekly classes demonstrate a curiosity towards the medium of paper and express how it matters to them. Ridged cardboard, magazine cut-outs, bark, and tessellated collagraphs are present in the show. In the spirit of collage, paper is torn, cut and sliced. In other artworks a painterly or drawing approach conveys the importance of paper as a support.
